The WT cannon, present during the Buffs' final preseason scrimmage, was a no-show Saturday.
Due to regulations such as decibel levels, the cannon, fired after Buff scores, was not in use.
It remains to be seen if it will be missed.

Too many rules and regulations!! Whats next will fans will have to hush so it doesn't disrupt the snap count, come on THIS IS FOOTBALL.
ReplyDeleteI believe there were some actual decibel regulations in the law and they couldn't get that Howitzer quiet enough. That, and they probably couldn't fire it so close to the people on the hill by the North End Zone without busting some ear drums. There may have also been a problem with getting the live buffalo mascot too riled up when the cannon went off. We never got official word on why it was pulled.
ReplyDeleteThe cannon at UT-Austin, my alma mater, is actually pretty quiet, relatively speaking, so maybe WT could visit with them and see what they use and how they control Bevo when it goes off.
