What a difference State makes

When I talked with Randall players, they kept describing to me how different the atmosphere was at Strahan Coliseum during the state tournament.

I figured there was a little bit of hyperbole involved. That there was no way it could be much bigger than playing Hereford on the road or in Abilene at the regional tournament.

I was wrong.

There are more fans, the arena is a lot bigger and there were more reporters there than I when I covered the Texas Longhorns volleyball team, who is a perenial top-25 Division I team.

No wonder the Randall freshmen and sophomores who were here in 2007 were a little intimidated.
